Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua is finally happening. The long-awaited all-British heavyweight blockbuster is confirmed for December 11 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
After years of speculation and negotiations, Fury and Joshua will meet in the professional ring for the first time.
Netflix will stream the fight live around the world. Organisers are expected to announce the full undercard and further event details soon.
Anthony Joshua breaks his silence on Fury fight
Joshua appeared to hint that an announcement was close before the fight was confirmed.
The former two-time heavyweight world champion posted a cryptic message on social media. He also shared a photograph of himself standing in front of a Union Jack.
Joshua wrote: “The quietest ones often pull the strings.”
He continued: “Those who appear least involved may hold the greatest control. Let them shout first, the wisest wait until the final move.”
The message added intrigue to the build-up. At the time, negotiations over the venue had entered their final stages.
Joshua had made it clear that he wanted the fight in the UK. Meanwhile, Fury’s camp had been more open to taking the bout overseas.
Fury vs Joshua venue finally confirmed
Cardiff’s Principality Stadium will host the fight. The announcement ends months of uncertainty over the venue.
Madison Square Garden in New York had previously emerged as a possible alternative. However, the blockbuster will now return to the UK.
Turki Alalshikh confirmed the news on social media. He also revealed that the fight would take place in front of British boxing fans.
“For 15 years no one has been able to make this fight. Back in April, I said that any announcement would come from me,” Alalshikh wrote.
“I can now confirm that Fury Vs Joshua will be coming to the UK, as I promised British boxing fans. The time for talking is over.”

Fury and Joshua records
