F&F Entertainment has officially announced that the Korean-pop girl group UNIS will conclude all group activities on September 26 following the completion of their exclusive management contract.
The conclusion comes two and a half years after the multinational ensemble first captured international attention during their debut.
Originally formed through the competitive reality survival program Universe Ticket in early 2024, UNIS officially debuted on March 27, 2024, with their popular mini-album We Unis.
The eight-member collective features Hyeonju, Nana, Gehlee, Kotoko, Yunha, Elisia, Yoona and Seowon.
Why did UNIS split up?
Boasting three Filipina members alongside South Korean and Japanese vocalists, the group quickly built a massive worldwide fanbase through international concert tours, chart-topping releases and energetic stage performances.
According to the agency’s official statement, the decision follows comprehensive discussions between company representatives and the members regarding their future endeavors.
F&F Entertainment conveyed its heartfelt gratitude to the young artists for their dedication and outstanding achievements throughout their group career.
To commemorate their shared milestones, UNIS released a special final single, “Milky Way”, allowing members and listeners to look back fondly on their journey together.
Fan reaction
News of the planned conclusion has left thousands of global fans, affectionately known as EverAfter, completely shocked and sad.
“It’s actually sad I’ve been their fan since Universe Ticket and actually saw them irl [in real life] multiple times I was getting so happy that people were starting to get to know them,” a fan commented on an edited TikTok video announcing the news.
“Why am I actually crying dude. I saw multiple groups disbanding but this is different idk why, last time I cried over a group was Gfriend [crying emoji],” another added.
While full-group operations are coming to a formal end, F&F Entertainment emphasised that it will actively cheer on each member’s personal growth and upcoming projects.
