Pledis Entertainment has announced the first extended play from SEVENTEEN’s new subunit, JxJ. The duo features members Jeonghan and Joshua.
JxJ will release its debut EP, Dreamscape, on October 19. The project marks the first release from the new duo.
The subunit joins the growing list of SEVENTEEN units that have emerged during the group’s military enlistment period. The members have continued working on music while some SEVENTEEN members complete their mandatory service.
‘Dreamscape’ explores dreams
Dreamscape centers on the idea of a dreamlike world. The EP explores two meanings of dreams.
One meaning refers to the visions people experience while sleeping. The other represents the goals and ambitions people pursue while awake.
According to Pledis Entertainment, Jeonghan and Joshua will take on the role of dreamers in the project. The concept explores a world where the boundaries between different types of dreams begin to disappear.
The agency also plans to highlight the individual artistry of both singers through the new subunit.

October debut beckons
The month of October is shaping up to be a productive one for the two Seventeen members.
Jeonghan was discharged from the military on June 25 after nearly two years of fulfilling South Korea’s mandatory enlistment – and he has been booked and busy since his return.
JxJ, meanwhile, is another product of Seventeen’s commitment to keeping their presence on the music scene alive whilst various members complete military service.
Pledis also hopes to highlight the different facets of Jeonghan and Joshua’s artistry, starting with Dreamscape.
More details on the EP, including a full tracklist and promotional schedule, will be revealed in the coming weeks.
