EFL Championship: Midnite offers 1,000 free chicken parmos

Midnite will serve 1,000 free Teesside parmos to Middlesbrough fans this weekend. The giveaway will take place at the Riverside Stadium before Boro’s match against Cardiff City.

The promotion follows a fun cooking contest featuring Middlesbrough legends and first-team players. The challenge will go live on Midnite’s social media channels after the fixture.

The campaign will bring a taste of a local favourite to matchday. It will also give Boro supporters a chance to enjoy a free parmo before kick-off.

Fan experience

The Teesside Parmo is a much-loved part of Middlesbrough’s food culture. It also holds a special place in local matchday traditions.

Midnite wants to celebrate this local favourite while giving something back to Boro supporters. The giveaway brings food, football and the local community together.

Since becoming Middlesbrough’s principal partner, Midnite has launched several fan-focused campaigns. The company aims to make the matchday experience more rewarding for supporters.

At the start of this season, Midnite launched ‘This Season’s On Us’. The campaign gives fans the chance to win season tickets, shirts, match tickets and £25 club-shop vouchers.

Midnite also runs its season-long ‘2UP’ initiative at every home league game. The promotion gives Boro fans the chance to win a growing cash prize.

If Middlesbrough go two goals ahead in a home league match, one lucky fan wins the 2UP prize pot. The prize starts at £1,000 and grows by another £1,000 after every home league match.

So far this season, Middlesbrough fans have won a combined £3,000 through the initiative.

Giving back

Ahead of the weekend, Wheater said: “While you’ll have to stay tuned to social media to find out who won the Parmo Challenge, my parmo was made with a lot of heart, cheese, chicken, and a whole lot of béchamel sauce.

“It was a really fun experience to take part in, and it’s even better knowing that the fans get to be part of it too, with an even tastier parmo on matchday.”

Andrew Mook, head of brand marketing at Midnite, added: “There is no more recognisable meal for Middlesbrough locals than a Teesside Parmo, and we’re pleased to be able to celebrate it while giving something back to the fans who show up every week.

“Alongside ‘This Season’s On Us’ and ‘2UP’, the core of what we do at Midnite is making sure the fan experience is at the heart of everything.

“We’ve already had two 2UP winners at Middlesbrough, with £3,000 won so far, and we’re looking forward to seeing what the rest of the season brings.

“Thanks to David, Craig, Alfie, Sol, Kim, and Crazy & Co for all their help in making this campaign possible.”
