Veteran Hollywood director Steven Spielberg has unveiled the first Disclosure Day trailer for his mysterious new sci-fi film. The trailer offers the first major look at the project after months of secrecy.
Spielberg kept many details about the movie under wraps. He did not even reveal the title until recently. Now, the Disclosure Day trailer gives audiences their first clues about the story.
The footage points towards UFOs, extraterrestrial activity and a possible global mystery. However, Spielberg has not yet revealed the full plot.
An ongoing mystery
No official synopsis has arrived yet. However, the trailer provides several clues about the possible story.
Josh O’Connor and Emily Blunt lead the cast. O’Connor appears to discover a connection to unexplained extraterrestrial activity.
Blunt plays a news presenter who struggles during a weather broadcast. She stutters and makes strange sounds while appearing to speak an unknown language.
The trailer also features a dramatic statement from O’Connor’s character.
“People have a right to know the truth, it belongs to 7 billion people,” he says.
Colin Firth, Eve Hewson and Colman Domingo also appear in the film. Their roles remain largely secret.
Firth’s character operates a mysterious machine. He also appears disturbed while watching something on a screen.
At the end of the trailer, Elizabeth Marvel appears as a nun. Her character asks why God would create such a vast universe and leave it only for humanity.
These scenes have already sparked plenty of questions. Spielberg appears determined to keep the movie’s biggest secrets hidden.

Disclosure Day reunites Steven Spielberg with screenwriter David Koepp. The pair previously worked together on several major films.
Their collaborations include Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Josh O’Connor previously described the project as “old-school Spielberg” in an interview with Deadline.
“I think people will be excited,” the actor said.
O’Connor also praised Spielberg after getting the chance to work with the legendary director.
“He’s just the most special person,” O’Connor said. He also described Spielberg as an inspiring filmmaker with remarkable energy.
The actor recalled Spielberg sharing ideas with the cast during filming. According to O’Connor, the director approached those moments with the excitement of a child discovering something new.
The Disclosure Day trailer suggests that Spielberg is returning to one of his favourite areas of cinema. UFOs, unexplained events and encounters with the unknown have featured throughout his career.
However, the new film appears to offer a fresh mystery. The trailer reveals enough to create intrigue without explaining everything.
Disclosure Day is scheduled to arrive in cinemas in summer 2026.
