Disney has confirmed the Tangled live-action cast, with Milo Manheim and Teagan Croft set to lead the upcoming remake.
Manheim will play Flynn Rider, while Croft will portray Rapunzel. The film will bring Disney’s 2010 animated classic to the screen with a new cast and creative team.
The remake will be directed by Michael Gracey, known for The Greatest Showman. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson will write the screenplay.
A modern Flynn and Rapunzel for a new generation
Milo Manheim is best known for playing Zed in Disney Channel’s Zombies franchise.
He also brings musical theatre experience to the role. His background could help him capture Flynn Rider’s humour, charm and musical side.
Manheim also competed on Dancing With the Stars Season 27, where he finished as the runner-up.
Teagan Croft will play Rapunzel. The Australian actress gained recognition for playing Raven in the series Titans.
She also starred as Jessica Watson in True Spirit. Those roles have given Croft experience with both emotional and character-driven performances.
The role of Rapunzel will also require strong musical performances. The character is closely associated with songs such as “When Will My Life Begin?” and “I See the Light”.

A visionary creative team
Michael Gracey will direct Disney’s live-action Tangled. He previously directed The Greatest Showman, a musical that became a major global success.
Jennifer Kaytin Robinson will write the screenplay. Her previous credits include Do Revenge and co-writing Thor: Love and Thunder.
Music will remain an important part of the new film. Disney has not yet confirmed whether original composer Alan Menken will return for the remake.
Fans will also be waiting for news about the rest of the Tangled live-action cast, including the actor who will play Mother Gothel.
What’s next for Disney’s Tangled remake?
The confirmation of Manheim and Croft gives Disney’s Tangled remake its two central characters.
The studio has yet to reveal all of the supporting cast and further production details. Mother Gothel remains one of the biggest roles still awaiting an announcement.
The original Tangled introduced audiences to Rapunzel, Flynn Rider and their adventure outside the tower in 2010. Its humour, romance and music helped make the animated film a fan favourite.
The live-action version now has the opportunity to introduce that story to a new generation.
With its Tangled live-action cast taking shape and a musical filmmaker behind the camera, Disney’s remake is already attracting attention from fans of the original.
