ALAMAT to Bring Filipino Music and Culture to Paris Festival

P-pop boy group ALAMAT is set to bring Filipino music and culture to Paris as it represents the Philippines at The A Festival 2026. The event will mark the group’s first performance in the French capital.

ALAMAT consists of Taneo, Mo, Jao, Tomas, R-Ji and Alas. The group will perform at the Paris Event Center on October 24. The performance forms part of the two-day festival focused on Asian music and entertainment.

The festival will feature artists from across Asia. The lineup includes Thailand’s JASP.ER, ATLAS and 4EVE. South Korea will also have TRENDZ, POW and Jacob of THE BOYZ. Japan’s 7!! (Seven Oops), Malaysia’s DOLLA and Chinese artist Sunny Lukas will also perform.

Representing the Philippines in France

ALAMAT’s Paris performance will introduce its Filipino sound and cultural identity to a European audience.

“It’s such a big thing for us. It’s such an honor because we’re gonna be able to extend our culture there. We’re gonna represent the Philippines. And we are proud to represent the Philippines,” Jao said in a nine-minute interview published by Envol Production.

The group also looks forward to meeting Filipinos living in France.

“We are excited to meet the Filipino community there and to bring the Philippines there for them as well,” Taneo said.

“We want every Filipino in France to feel that somehow home is near through Filipino music.”

ALAMAT also highlighted its musical style in an Instagram post about the Paris performance. The group combines P-pop, hip-hop, R&B and dance. Its work also draws from Philippine languages, stories and cultural influences.

The group incorporates Filipino culture into its music, visuals, fashion and choreography. It also uses different Philippine languages in its songs.

Some of ALAMAT’s best-known songs include “Maharani,” “Day and Night,” “Dagundong,” “Sa Panaginip Na Lang” and “Hiraya.”

The A Festival celebrates Asian talent

The A Festival brings together artists from different parts of Asia. Emmanuelle Amelin founded 5 Oceans Entertainment and serves as its president. The company co-organises the festival with Envol Production.

Amelin said the festival aims to help European audiences discover Asian artists and cultures.

In an interview with View of the Arts, she also discussed the diversity of Asia’s entertainment industry. She noted that European audiences often associate Asian entertainment with South Korea and Japan.

According to Amelin, the festival wants to broaden that view. Its lineup includes artists from Thailand, the Philippines, China, Japan, Malaysia and other Asian countries.

“We wanted Korean artists to share the same festival with Thai, Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian or Burmese artists,” she said.

Amelin also explained that popularity alone does not determine the festival’s lineup. She said the team looks for artists with a distinct identity and creative style.

Showcasing diverse Asian talent

Emmanuelle Amelin, founder and president of 5 Oceans Entertainment, which is co-organising The A Festival with Envol Production, shared that the festival was created to give European audiences an opportunity to discover artists and cultures from different parts of Asia.

In an interview with View of the Arts, Amelin said diversity was an important part of the festival’s vision, noting that Asian entertainment in Europe is often associated mainly with South Korea and Japan, despite the wealth of talent across the region.

“Asia is incredibly diverse, and there is so much talent, creativity and content coming from many different countries that European audiences still have very little opportunity to discover,” she said.

Amelin added that she and the Envol Production wanted the festival to showcase artists from across the region rather than focus on a single country or entertainment industry.

“We wanted Korean artists to share the same festival with Thai, Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian or Burmese artists,” she said.

Amelin also said that the festival looks beyond an artist’s popularity when choosing its line-up, focusing instead on what makes each performer distinctive.

“Follower numbers have never been enough for me,” she said.

“When we programme an event, we look first for identity.”
