The LIV Golf exodus continues, as several popular golfers from the home nations have reportedly called it quits.
As a result, the tour has faced another difficult few weeks. Jon Rahm is also among the high-profile names linked to recent departures from LIV Golf.
Here, Sports News Blitz golf writer Jay Kennedy looks at the latest British and Northern Irish players reported to have left the tour.
Ian Poulter
England’s Ian Poulter is one of the latest home nations players to announce his LIV Golf departure.
The Englishman has won three PGA Tour titles. His most recent victory came at the 2018 Houston Open.
Nicknamed ‘The Postman’, Poulter joined LIV Golf in 2022. Before that, he finished runner-up at The Open Championship.
He later became co-captain of Majesticks GC. His fellow captains included England’s Lee Westwood and Sweden’s Henrik Stenson. However, Stenson left LIV after the 2025 season.
Poulter helped Majesticks finish sixth in the team standings in 2022. Individually, his best LIV Golf result came at the 2024 Chicago event, where he finished fifth.
In 2026, his best individual result was a tie for 15th at LIV Golf UK at JCB. Meanwhile, Majesticks finished 12th in the team standings, while Poulter placed 42nd individually.
Tyrell Hatton
Another Englishman reportedly leaving LIV Golf is Tyrrell Hatton.
The 35-year-old has one PGA Tour title. He won the 2020 Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Furthermore, Hatton enjoyed strong results in major championships over the period covered by the original report. He finished in the top five at the 2025 US Open and tied for third at the 2026 Masters.
Hatton joined LIV Golf in 2024. He became part of Legion XIII alongside Spanish star Jon Rahm.
During his time on the tour, Hatton won two individual titles. These came at the 2024 Nashville event and the 2026 Andalucia event.
He also helped Legion XIII win the 2025 team championship. In 2026, the team finished third in the standings, while Hatton placed fifth in the individual rankings.
Graeme McDowell
The departures are not limited to English players. Northern Ireland has also seen prominent names linked to LIV Golf exits.
One of them is Graeme McDowell, the 2010 US Open champion.
McDowell is also remembered for his crucial role in Europe’s 2010 Ryder Cup victory at Celtic Manor. He holed an important putt on the 16th hole during Sunday’s singles matches.
Across his career, McDowell has won three PGA Tour titles and 10 European Tour titles.
He joined LIV Golf in 2022 and initially represented Cleeks GC. The team also featured Martin Kaymer, a two-time major champion and former world number one.
However, McDowell moved to the team identified as OKGC in 2024.
His best individual LIV Golf finish came at LIV Golf Virginia in 2025. He tied for second place at the event.
In the 2026 season, OKGC finished eighth in the team standings. Meanwhile, McDowell ended the individual competition in 46th place.
Tom McKibbin
The other Northern Irishman to depart the tour recently was Tom McKibbin.
The 23-year-old joined LIV Golf in 2025, wherein he became a member of Legion XIII.
McKibbin has one DP World Tour title to his name, the 2023 Porsche European Open.
His best solo finish on the LIV tour was tied for fourth at LIV Golf Andalucia in 2025.
McKibbin finished in the top 10 twice in 2026, in Mexico City and New York.
This year, the Northern Irishman came in 26th place in the solo standings.
What next?
The UK firepower has now vanished, as this collection of players have said goodbye to LIV Golf.
The DP World Tour now seems the more than likely destination for the United Kingdom favourites.
All of the home nations’ golf fans will now be full of hope that the departed names will play closer to home more regularly in 2027.
With just a small platter of names having committed to LIV 2.0, the stacked roster has deflated day-by-day.
