Collecting alternative rock icons like they are infinity stones, singer-songwriter Beabadoobee rocks her fourth studio album ‘Pylon’.
Filipino-British artist Beatrice Laus, known as Beabadoobee, has featured Hayley Williams of Paramore, Chino Moreno of Deftones, Shane Moran of Title Fight, Brendan Yates of Turnstile, Evan Stephens Hall of Pinegrove and Andre Fisher of Basement in this latest release.
Matty Healy and George Daniel, her usual partners, are also present in the credits.
The 26-year-old artist released ‘Pylon’ on Friday, two years after her previous album, ‘This is How Tomorrow Moves’.
This time, Beabadoobee channels 1990s alternative rock with heavy guitar and drums, as she hints at isolation, nostalgia, anger, and messing up as an adult.
Collab of the year?
Fans have been anticipating her collaboration with rock icon Hayley Williams of Paramore.
The two performed and wrote ‘Nothing to Prove’ together.
Titlefight’s Shane Moran also performed the backing vocals of ‘Satellite’, as did Turnstile’s Brendan Yates for ‘Powerlines’.
Meanwhile, the song ‘Spark’ was a dream come true for the artist, as she had always regarded Pinegrove as her favorite band.
Pinegrove lead singer Evan Stephen Halls co-wrote the song.
Basement’s Andrew Fisher also contributed to the backing vocals of ‘Pylon’, ‘Despite That’, ‘In Motion’ and ‘Satellite’.
Among the credited songwriters are Gianluca Buccellati, Luca Caruso, Shane Moran, and Jason Vance Harris – who also produced the album.
Beabadoobee’s usual partners, The 1975 lead singer Matty Healy and drummer George Daniel co-produced ‘Write Me a Letter’.
The 1975 is also under the same British independent record label, Dirty Hit, where Healy and Daniel are among the shareholders.
The Powerlines Tour
The artist commenced The Powerlines Tour in August, as announced in June.
She is currently touring the North America leg, covering the United States and Canada.
The European leg will start in November, covering the United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
She also recently announced the dates for shows in Australia, starting in March 2027.
