More than 760 exhibitors from over 34 countries and regions have joined the 29th Hong Kong International Film and Television Market (FILMART) this year. Vietnam is among them and has expanded its presence with a dedicated film pavilion.

Three Vietnamese exhibitors are taking part in the event. Vietnamese films also feature in the programme. The Vietnam Film Development Association sponsors the country’s participation.

Welcoming the Vietnamese film pavilion

The 29th edition of FILMART continues to expand its cultural diversity. New pavilions this year include Australia, Cambodia, France, India, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam.

The event also welcomes first-time exhibitors from Armenia, Czechia, and Kazakhstan.

“We very much welcome the Vietnamese participation and for the first time, the Vietnam pavilion,” Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) deputy executive director Patrick Lau stated.

“Vietnam has a wonderful production facility and an up-and-coming strong film industry with huge potential to develop in culture and arts.”

Lau also encouraged Vietnam to work closely with Hong Kong. He suggested using the Hong Kong platform to connect with more countries around the world.

“We are very confident of the Vietnam film industry going forward,” Lau added.
