Red Bull have confirmed that Isack Hadjar will remain alongside Max Verstappen for the 2027 Formula 1 season.
The Frenchman joined Red Bull at the start of the 2026 campaign. He earned his promotion after an impressive rookie season with Racing Bulls.
Hadjar has now secured his place for another season. Red Bull confirmed the news ahead of his return at this weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Hadjar earns another season with Red Bull
The 21-year-old has impressed during his first season alongside Verstappen.
His biggest highlight came at the Monaco Grand Prix. Hadjar claimed his first F1 podium at the race.
He had also enjoyed a strong run before suffering a wrist injury during the summer break. The injury forced him to miss the Dutch, Italian and Spanish Grands Prix.
Liam Lawson stepped in for Hadjar during those three races. Yuki Tsunoda moved back to Racing Bulls during the same period.
Hadjar has since made a full recovery. He will return to the Red Bull cockpit in Baku.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will mark his return to the team. He will once again partner Verstappen.
Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies said the team were “very excited” to continue working with Hadjar.
“Since joining us at the start of the year, he has been superb on and off track, especially considering this is only his second Formula 1 season, which made extending his contract an easy decision,” Mekies said.
“From the very beginning, Isack immersed himself in the team. He spent every minute at the factory with his engineers to develop the car.
“He has always been eager to learn and improve.
“You could see from that first weekend in Melbourne that he handled the step up with remarkable composure. He had earned his place in this seat.
“The period since his injury has been a difficult one for Isack. This extension is a testament to how much we believe in him.
“We can’t wait to see him back out on track.
“We still have a lot we want to achieve this season. It’s a great feeling to know that the drivers, engineers and everyone back at the factory are all heading in the same direction, committed and together.”
Red Bull settle their 2027 line-up
The decision means Red Bull will enter the 2027 season with a familiar driver pairing.
Verstappen will remain the team’s leading driver. Hadjar will get another full season to develop alongside the four-time world champion.
The confirmation also clarifies Liam Lawson’s position for next season.
Lawson will move back to Racing Bulls. He scored points in two of the three races he contested as Verstappen’s temporary team-mate.
Hadjar’s return comes at an important stage of the 2026 season.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix begins a triple-header. The championship will then continue with races in Malaysia and Singapore.
