Hollywood actress Meryl Streep recently wore a shirt from a Vietnamese label while filming “The Devil Wears Prada 2.”
The 76-year-old actress caught attention while shooting scenes in New York City. She wore a trench coat over a white shirt and wide-leg pants. Red heels and fashionable glasses completed the look.
Soon, photos of her outfit spread across X, Instagram and Threads.
Vietnamese label Moi Dien gains spotlight
The white shirt is the Nameless Pleated Shirt from Vietnamese brand Moi Dien. Vietnam News reported that the shirt costs nearly VND1.5 million, or about $63.
The design comes from the label’s spring-summer 2025 collection. It has also become a standout piece among Vietnamese fashion fans.
Moi Dien uses a distinctive approach for its signature unisex pleated shirt. The brand makes it from rayon, a material that does not usually work well with standard pleating methods.
Instead, the brand creates the pleats by hand. This process gives the shirt extra volume and a distinctive appearance.
After Streep’s photos went viral, demand for the shirt increased sharply.
Designer Tom Trandt told Dan Tri newspaper that orders surged during the first few days of the buzz. The brand received new orders every minute. The volume far exceeded its previous sales records.

The Devil Wears Prada… again!
“The Devil Wears Prada 2” is scheduled to arrive in cinemas in May 2026.
In the sequel, Miranda Priestly faces new challenges in a changing publishing industry. Meryl Streep returns as the powerful fashion editor.
Meanwhile, Emily Charlton has become an influential figure in the fashion world. Emily Blunt reprises the role and faces her former boss.
The original “The Devil Wears Prada” arrived in cinemas in 2006. The film adapted Lauren Weisberger’s novel of the same name.
The story follows Andy Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway. Andy is a recent college graduate who lands a job at the high-profile fashion magazine Runway.
At first, Andy struggles to adapt to Miranda’s demanding style. However, her ambition and determination gradually earn Miranda’s respect.
Over time, Andy begins to lose her sense of self. She also grows apart from the people closest to her.
Despite those challenges, the film became a major commercial success. Box Office Mojo reports that it earned more than $325 million worldwide.
That figure represented more than nine times its production cost. The movie also earned two Academy Award nominations and a Golden Globe.
It received several other awards and nominations as well. The film later became a major part of modern fashion and pop-culture conversations.
