As of Tuesday 15 September, Sun Goddess sits at the top of Timeform’s two-year-old rankings. She earned a rating of 120 after an impressive victory in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes.
The result makes Sun Goddess the highest-rated two-year-old filly since Lady Aurelia achieved a rating of 124 in 2016.
The Moyglare winner leads the rankings by 5lb. National Stakes winner Folsom Blues follows her with a rating of 115.
Moyglare victory
Sun Goddess won the Moyglare Stud Stakes by more than six lengths. As a result, Timeform awarded her a rating of 120.
Her performance also produced the best rating in the Moyglare Stud Stakes this century.
Aidan O’Brien trains the daughter of Sioux Nation. She now sits 5lb clear of Folsom Blues in the Timeform rankings.
Folsom Blues earned his rating of 115 after winning the Group 1 National Stakes on the same card.
Meanwhile, Desert Castle impressed at Doncaster. He earned a Timeform rating of 113p after winning the Group 2 Champagne Stakes by three lengths.
Sun Goddess basks in the glory
Timeform’s Andrew Asquith said: “Sun Goddess’ performance in the Moyglare rocketed her to the head of Timeform’s two-year-old rankings. The performance earned her rating of 120, making her the highest rated two-year-old filly since Lady Aurelia back in 2016.
“The performance easily produced the best rating in the race this century and she’s now Timeform’s top-rated juvenile.
“Sun Goddess has quite a speedy pedigree, but she had no problem stepping up to seven furlongs for the first time, and the manner in which she powered away from her rivals in a truly run race suggests she should have no problem staying a mile next season.
“The Cheveley Park Stakes is only a couple of weeks away, but she is a tough and very smart filly who appears to be thriving on her racing this year, so it would be no surprise to see her turn up at Newmarket and she will take all the beating if doing so.”
