Erin Foster, creator of the hit Netflix series Nobody Wants This, has responded to lead actor Adam Brody’s support for Palestine.
Foster discussed the issue in an upcoming episode of Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast. She said she disagrees with Brody’s call for a “Free Palestine.”
However, Foster stressed that people can hold different opinions. She also made clear that disagreement does not mean a lack of respect.
“You know, it’s complicated,” Foster said.
Foster compared the show’s working environment to dinner tables around the world. She said people should be able to debate issues and disagree openly.
“While I love Adam, I also disagree with him, and that’s OK,” she added.
Brody makes his stance known
Brody made the comments during a GQ interview last month.
He said that while he had spoken extensively about his stance on the Israel-Gaza war in private, he had not discussed it much publicly.
“Put me down as thinking it’s a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine,” he told GQ.
“It’s awful that it’s taken so much death and misery, but it does feel like it’s reaching a breaking point that it should have a while ago. I’m hopeful that another administration can really do some good and correct some of these policies that are helping that situation be as awful as it is.”

‘Nobody Wants This’ as a love letter to Jews
Foster, who created the show, drew inspiration from her own life, having converted to Judaism before marrying her husband.
According to Foster, the show has always been a love letter to Judaism.
“As the creator of the show, all I can say is that I want our Jewish fans to know that I see you and I hear you and I understand how you feel,” Foster said.
“The show has always been and always will be a love letter to Judaism. That is why I made this show. It’s because of how beautiful of an experience I’ve had becoming Jewish and being a Jewish person.”
She added that a show like ‘Nobody Wants This’ is especially important “at this time in the world where there is almost zero positive representation of Jewish people.”
‘Nobody Wants This’ is a romantic comedy series that follows the love story of agnostic podcast host Joanne Williams (Kristen Bell) and rabbi Noah Roklov (Brody).
The series premiered in September 2024, followed by its second installement in October 2025.
Its third season was just recently released on October 22, 2026.
