Bridgerton Season 4 gives Sophie’s story a fresh direction while keeping the heart of the original novel.
The series changes Sophie’s surname from Beckett to Baek. The change also reflects Yerin Ha’s Korean heritage and adds another layer to the character’s identity.

Several familiar faces will also return. Nicola Coughlan will reprise her role as Penelope Bridgerton, while Claudia Jessie returns as Eloise Bridgerton.
Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley will also return as Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma.
Fans can also expect the return of Lady Danbury, Queen Charlotte and Violet Bridgerton. Adjoa Andoh, Golda Rosheuvel and Ruth Gemmell will reprise their respective roles.
The new season could also explore the changing relationship between Penelope and Eloise. Their friendship faced major challenges during the previous season, but their story is far from over.
When to expect the season
Netflix has announced Bridgerton Season 4 for 2026. The season will focus on Benedict’s romance with Sophie and continue the story of the Bridgerton family.
The fourth season wrapped filming in June and has moved into post-production.
Netflix has also confirmed a two-part release. The first four episodes will arrive on January 29, 2026, followed by the remaining four episodes on February 26, 2026.
This release strategy follows the format used for the previous season.
