Lando Norris delivered another standout performance for McLaren as he claimed victory at the Dutch Formula 1 Grand Prix in Zandvoort.
The British driver secured his second consecutive win of the season after overcoming an early setback and a tense battle with Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli.
Verstappen crashes out early
Norris started from pole position but faced immediate drama when home favourite Max Verstappen crashed into the barriers early in the race, bringing out a red flag.
Verstappen was able to report that he was okay, but his retirement brought a disappointing end to his race on home turf.
Following the restart, Antonelli took control of the race, while Norris had to regroup and manage his strategy carefully. McLaren’s decision-making and Norris’ pace eventually put him back in contention, allowing the reigning world champion to reclaim the lead in the closing stages.
Antonelli finished second, while Mercedes teammate George Russell completed the podium in third.
‘A champion drive’: Fans react to Norris’ win
Meanwhile, fans quickly celebrated Norris’ performance online, praising his composure and race craft.
“Pole and win in the last gp, pole and win in this one. Yea he woke up,” someone commented on F1’s Instagram post of Norris winning.
“It was a champion drive today, impressive,” another added.
With his recent achievement, Norris has given his supporters fresh confidence as the F1 2026 season continues.
His Dutch Grand Prix win stands as another major statement in his campaign.
