The 2025 Korea eSports Association (KeSPA) Cup has officially begun. This year’s event marks a new chapter for Korean esports.
For the first time, North American League of Legends (LoL) teams have joined the tournament.
The KeSPA Cup runs from December 6 to December 14. It is one of the most anticipated LoL off-season events ahead of the 2026 competitive season.
Fans around the world can watch the matches through Disney+.
Cloud 9, Team Liquid to rumble with LCK teams
Ten League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) teams are competing in this year’s KeSPA Cup.
They are joined by two teams from Japan and Vietnam. Cloud9 and Team Liquid also make history as the first North American teams to enter the tournament.
Both teams are among the leading professional LoL organisations in North America.
The tournament will begin with online matches. The grand final will then take place in person at the Sangam SOOP Colosseum in Seoul.
As a result, fans will get an early look at the teams ahead of the 2026 season. The event also gives the international teams a chance to test themselves against top Korean competition.
The expanded lineup adds another layer of interest to this year’s tournament. It also gives North American teams a new opportunity to compete in one of Korea’s major LoL events.

Game replays, highlights on Disney+
Disney+ is streaming full game replays and highlights for a limited time.
The platform is offering both English and Korean commentary across 11 Asia-Pacific countries. These markets include South Korea, Japan, Australia, the Philippines and Singapore.
The streaming deal follows an agreement between KeSPA and Disney+ announced earlier this year.
Under the deal, Disney+ became the official media distribution partner for KeSPA events.
The partnership will also cover Team Korea’s esports coverage at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Games. The programme will feature games such as League of Legends, Honor of Kings and Pokémon Unite.
Therefore, the KeSPA Cup represents more than another off-season LoL tournament. It also highlights Disney+’s growing presence in competitive gaming.
With North American teams entering the competition for the first time, the 2025 LoL KeSPA Cup offers fans a fresh international matchup.
