Meghan Trainor has responded to criticism surrounding her recent weight loss and breast augmentation.
The “All About That Bass” singer says she feels better than ever despite the negative comments. She has also spoken openly about her focus on health after having two children.
Trainor discussed her transformation while promoting her latest single, “Still Don’t Care”. The self-love anthem will feature on her upcoming seventh album, Toy With Me, due next April.
Responding to criticism
Trainor told Entertainment Tonight that she has made her health a major priority after having children.
“I’m literally for the first time ever, after having babies, taking care of my health to the highest level and I’ve never felt better and I look incredible. I feel great,” she said.
However, Trainor said the positive changes have also brought more criticism.
“And that’s when people attack me,” she added.
The Grammy winner said she feels proud of the work she has done for her health. She also admitted that public comments about her body can still affect her.
Trainor pointed out that people have criticised her appearance at different weights.
“I have to find a way to not be affected by that,” she said.
The singer now wants to focus on feeling healthy and confident rather than responding to every comment about her appearance.
Health and weight loss journey
The 31-year-old has always been transparent about her weight loss transformation. In March, she revealed the steps she had taken to achieve her new look, which involved taking the Type-2 diabetes medication Mounjaro as a weight loss drug.
“I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my 2nd pregnancy,” she wrote on Instagram at the time, emphasising how these steps were part of her health and wellness journey.
“And I’m so glad I did,” she added, “because I feel great.”
In addition to the GLP-1 medication, Meghan has also been transparent about the cosmetic procedures she has undergone.
“I got my dream boobs and they are gorgeous,” she told E! News in March. “I had two babies, I pumped everything out of me and then I lost a bunch of weight, and my boobs were like ‘we’re not boobs,’ you know?”
She emphasised her contentment with her choice, continuing: “I was like, ‘I’m going to get some new ones,’ and that was my dream.”
