The staff of Sacred Heart Hospital is back as EW has released the first trailer for the Scrubs revival.
The ABC medical comedy will return on February 25, 2026. The trailer gives fans their first look at the beloved characters after a 15-year absence.
The original Scrubs, created by Bill Lawrence, premiered in 2001. The series ran for nine seasons before ending in 2010.
The main story concluded with Season 8, when most of the original cast left the show. Season 9 then introduced a new group of main characters, including actor Dave Franco.
‘I’m back, baby!’
Scrubs followed training doctor John J.D. Dorian, played by Zach Braff, as he adjusted to life at Sacred Heart Hospital.
The comedy became known for J.D.’s vivid imagination, fast-paced storytelling and emotional moments. The show offered a lighter take on medical dramas while still exploring friendship, love and loss.
The original cast also featured Sarah Chalke as Elliot, Donald Faison as J.D.’s best friend Turk and Judy Reyes as nurse Carla.
John C. McGinley played Dr. Cox, J.D.’s sarcastic mentor. Ken Jenkins appeared as Bob Kelso, the hospital’s chief of medicine.
The series became one of the most popular medical comedies of the 2000s. However, the ninth season received a weaker response after the show changed its focus and introduced a new group of characters.
The new Scrubs revival trailer brings back several familiar faces. J.D., Turk and Elliot walk through the hospital corridors before J.D. proudly tells a group of new interns, “I’m back, baby!”
Turk then suggests that J.D. try a different approach. Dr. Cox and Carla also appear in the trailer.
J.D. later smiles and says, “It’s good to be back!”
The first look gives fans a nostalgic glimpse of the original characters. It also suggests that the friendship between J.D. and Turk will remain an important part of the revival.
